Wakaura Tenmangu Shrine, located on Mt. Tenjin in Wakaura, is counted as one of Japan's three shrines. It enshrines Michizane Sugawara and is known as the god of learning. It is cherished as the guardian deity of the Wakaura area and is revered by many people. Every year, during the exam season, many examinees from all over the country come to pray for success.
